Posted May 24, 2018 09:15:50 The RCMP is asking the public for help finding the best way to wear leggys in the workplace.
“If you see someone wearing leggy clothes and the only way they can move is by putting their feet up, they are not wearing a proper attire,” said RCMP Const.
The RCMP has posted the following on its website: “Leggings are an important part of RCMP uniform.
They are also a symbol of the RCMP and we want to provide the best solution possible to ensure everyone is wearing the correct attire.”
Bales says he’s seen many people wearing the leggins for years and they don’t fit well on police vehicles.
“They are tight on the thighs, they’re tight on all the different areas of the body, so it makes it hard to get into the vehicle,” he said.
Bales recommends wearing the same clothing that a normal person wears to work.
“You can wear a jacket, but if you’re wearing a leggin, then you need to wear a legging,” he explained.
“And so the safest way to do that is to wear them on your head, or your arms.
And if you want to wear your gloves on, you need them on both hands.”
Anyone who has seen a police officer wearing legging shoes in public or has any tips on how to wear the appropriate attire to work should contact the RCMP at 1-800-453-8572.
