A U.S. official told NBC News on Monday that the Obama administration is considering a ban on importing fake leather, saying that it is an industry that has no business being in the United States.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the White House has “serious concerns about the fake leather industry and their practices,” which he called “a significant threat to the quality and safety of leather products.”
