The new $9,000 motorcycle vest that’s popping up on Instagram has raised eyebrows, but the folks behind it say they’re not trying to fool you.
The faux leather motorcycle jacket, designed by San Francisco-based clothing manufacturer Real Leather, is a “slim, lightweight, and stylish” option, according to the company’s Instagram account.
While the product has received some criticism from the fashion world, Real Leather claims that it’s made from a “low-stress” material, which it says is “100% water repellent.”
It’s also made of “titanium,” which it claims makes the jacket waterproof up to 10 feet (3 meters) without the use of a filter.
You can buy the faux leather jacket for $9k, or you can buy a leather motorcycle patch, which is $35 for two.
The product is currently available only in China.
